Process Details

We provide the high-quality leaf springs you expect in our varity product line. Besides, we also focus on product quality, focusing on every step in the production system to achieve the perfection that customers want.

Our product are made with care using sturdy standard materials and techniques. After each production step, Products must be approved by our quality control department before being sent to another step for further production.

The raw material be received subjected to inspection such as dimensional, chemical & metallurgical inspection. On approval, it is sent for cutting operation.

We are available in the warehouse the most commonly used grades are 60Si2,, Sup9, Sup10, Sup 11a etc. Cross Section of the steel flats ranges from 50x6mm to 120x40mm depending upon the specific customer requirements.

The steel is then cut into the desired size and shape and is ready for the next step.

The steel is then formed into its final shape, typically using a machine called a leaf spring former. 


This process involves bending the steel into its final shape and ensuring that it is straight and has the correct curvature.

After all the end processing is over, the leaves are passed on to the heat treatment zone. In this the leaves are heated in the oil-fired Walking Beam Furnace controlled by PID System at more than 900 Deg C. Depending upon the cross-section of the leaf to be heat-treated, the stroke and cycle time are adjusted to ensure the total time in the furnace.

After the heating furnace, Use a quenching machine to make the desired bend on which the leaf is picked up and quenched in the oil. The temperature of the oil tank is maintained between 50 deg C to 80 deg C to ensure the correct rate of cooling. The austenitic structure changes to a martensitic structure on quenching.


Tempering furnace

The leaf is then placed in the tempering furnace where the temperature is maintained at 480 deg C to 520 deg C depending upon the grade of the steel being used. This operation imparts toughness to the steel by reducing its hardness. The temperature of the furnace is also controlled by PID System within ± 5 deg C.

All the leaves are assembled on this machine and secured by means of the center bolt which passes through the center of all the leaves. The desired torque is applied depending on the size of the bolt.
In this process, all of the accessories will be assembled

Quality Check


The entire assembly is then subjected to a load by mounting the ends of the springs on the trolleys and applying the load at the center by means of a hydraulic machine. The load is equivalent to 90% of the yield stress value. Scragging prevents the assembly from getting sagged in service and also relieves the assembly from internal stresses. Every assembly is subjected to scrag load 3 times in quick succession.
